Bio: Bryan Berkley Business Development of Special Hazards has 24 years in all aspects of fire protection inspection, installation, design, manufacturing, and applications. He is NICET IV in water-based systems, II in special hazards, and II in inspection & testing. He started in 1996 as an inspector for water-based fire protection systems for 2 years, became a fitter installing water-based fire protection systems for 4 years, moved into the designing role for 9 years, and then design manager for the last 3 years in the designing of water-based fire protection systems, foam systems, and clean agent systems. Over the past 10 years, he has been a national technical representative, and special hazards business manager for Viking, covering East and South America. His responsibilities include working with engineers on specifications for the Viking and Fireflex products, working with AHJ on new standards, and training contractors. He has also performed fire sprinkler and clean agent seminars for SFPE (Society of Fire Protection Engineers) and ASPE (American Society of Plumbing Engineers).
